About her:
With more than forty years of experience in international goods movement, global trade, sector training and association management, Ruth has begun her 'victory lap' retirement and is looking forward to new adventures and opportunities.
An accomplished speaker and subject matter expert, Ruth held several senior operational, sales and executive roles during her 27 years as an international freight forwarder, always with a CIFFA member firm. During that time Ruth made significant volunteer contributions to the development and delivery of the Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association (CIFFA)'s education programs. In 2008 she became CIFFA Executive Director, and since then has represented her industry in the Canadian and global arenas. Ruth takes a strong leadership role in advocating on behalf of the freight forwarding industry.
She has been actively engaged with the Canada Border Services Agency’s (CBSA) eManifest initiatives and container examination improvement programs, made significant contributions to Transport Canada Air Cargo Security, participated on CIFFA’s National Committees and is a frequent guest speaker at industry events. Helping build a vibrant community of professionals is just one of Ruth’s passions, with a strong focus on sector education, networking and promotion of the industry.
An effective facilitator and experienced instructor, some of Ruth's special areas of expertise include: Global goods movement, Incoterms, exporting from Canada, association management & governance.
